Donnyberger-
Im just curious but why would DPR want to block new registrations? If even more people are trying to get on isnt that a good thing? Do we (you) not want anymore users in SR or is it full? So the vendors that are there can have the existing buyers only. As time goes on and vendors fade away does DPR open it up to just new vendors? As well as you are restricting vendors to the existing members only. Where will new registers go? Thats where the vendors will follow to and SR will lose out on all of that business. When you say "a way to block all these morons" I assume you are refering to all the current members who flipped out while SR was down? Both vendors and buyers. As well as you must be refering to the existing members that are trying to scam for BTCs. Has nothing to do with new registers. I think the bottom line is you have an account and its working and thats all you are thinking about. Also if you consider the site going down and having its members freaking out about being ripped off is limelight I question your thinking all together. If anything it made members pull their BTCs out and others steer clear but thats what you would have anyway. New registers they wernt here when you were so by seniority that makes you superior. I have met people like that. They usually wont help other users (definately not newbies) and look at themselves as privlidged for "being there first" although they are just another one of the masses. Its easy to call others behaviors obnoxious when you have no investment in the object that is at risk. I would like to see (although I can predict) how you would behave if the situation was different. If you had a large amount of BTC or maybe someone elses tied up. Maybe you can afford to juggle the money around but not everyone can. Im not saying everyones reactions were sensible but there is a justifiable reason to be worried and for that and combined with their different characters and the variables of their addiction as well as their financial state--I understand as I think DPR does. Thus the reason he has handled this professionaly and not got caught up in the commotion. Everyone understands the risk and I dont think there is anyone who doesnt thank DPR and everyone else that contributes to what makes this all work (its not just DPR) but at the same time these people are also contributing to the community that is at the heart of this. They pay their fees and follow the rules. These people make the system possible and in that respect and in this particular case forgiveness and understanding should be at the top of everyones list right now. Then there is the other foot that you can try my shoe on: im a SR member who split with their significant other. I need to start an account of my own now. I have been waiting just like you. Should I be "halted" from registering a new account? What if it was you that just found SR like some of the new registers have. You remember how excited you were to see it? Well you cant join because your new. Hopefully you can understand where im coming from and you take this the right way. Try not to have a "spazathon" over it. ;)

I appreciate the quotation marks on spazathon since it is my use of the word that you now misuse it.
Vendor accounts are more dangerous than buyer accounts. Sorry you lost your SR account access with your gf.bf whatever significant other means to you.
Barely missed the registration being open huh, I do not think personal issues with your love life are gonna hit a sweet spot in The Staff's hearts to make this one exception. I wished it had been invite only or 1 day a week randomly allowed to control userbase about 7 months ago. Too many abuse the system as it is, but never the less the registration is not closed forever so maybe your personal spazathon should relax down.

These threads are pointless. Registration will be allowed when it is allowed, no one even has a quote on why it is not currently allowed.

There Is Alot of phishing sites going around and noobs in the threads are trying to convince other people to use it to use SR faster they say.
Ive already read where some one did it and he lost his account rite there. People are taking advantage of noobs at the moment cause of the down time and rumers.
People should be on their guard in this time. >:(

LOL this is like the third time this type of scam has played out in a very open and and easily detected manner.
Simply type Phishing into the search and you will see this is a lesson you having access to this information should have bee learned already it's practically the same as the trojan url last week except it's .onion page.

Knowledge is power guys, through research is a must for suck high risk activities as this. Many underestimate the how easy it is to steal from new members that have not become familiar with the types of scams that have happened in the past. All easily readable in the forum. Please navigate this area in a high security manner.

If you do not have a purchase to make or pay for just don't both with logging in please.
This is gonna takea few days for the members log in times to stretch out and be easier to log in and maintain a log in, unless you guys want it back off line.
I've even got stuff I need to get done but i refuse to jump right back on what so many were angry at, gluttons for punishment?

lol enough members doing that creates an unintended ddos ATTACK . Which at current membership numbers is a very good contender in the issues last week.  The biggest ass biter is most likely it was dominated with bandwidth usage to simply browse the menu and not to actually buy or sell.

Anyone else having issues with bitinstant to SR bitcoin address deposits?  I deposited cash 9 hours ago at Walmart and I'm still waiting to see the bitcoins in my account.  I e-mail support.  Hopefully I get the bit coins soon.  Going to bed nervous in hopes support responds and helps me out.

I deposited on the 10th and on the 14th my money from my SR account was removed through the block chain to unknown places. I contacted SR who asked me for the deposit address I sent it to, which I gave them, and then now it's been over 24hrs and I've heard nothing and to add insult to injury, I cahane my password, log in once with the new one, and now it doesn't recognise me at all.

I had to log in with my new account but at the moment I'm 150BTC out of pocket and I'm too scared to deposit more into my second one I was saving to become a vendor account or the one I can't get access to.

Need help asap any ADMIN guys!!!

You ever heard of the Phrase:
"Pics or it didnt happen."

Show me the proof.

10btc for an unused account?

doesn't really seem in the spirit of SR, but i understand your opportunism. all the same, i will pass. thanks for the offer though.

and Donny, yeah, totally gutting. I finally learned the entire process end to end...PGP, where to source Bitcoins, Tormail etc...so jumped on Saturday arvo and....bzzzzt.

oh well, good things come to those who wait!

exactly. in the long run it will be better if the site is sorted out a bit more before people can register instead of it going down all the time.

Yeah please allow Silk Road to run as it is and not subvert the system is does twice the damage and shows no respect to community.
I believe you were one of the members huge amount of members in my PM box about a certain little url experiment someone decided to test out last week or this week.

I am a voice of reason spend your time reading the archives it will improve you and increase your knowledge and safety during your time as a member.
Accounts will become coming back very soon, but at the current time new accounts of any kind are not transferable or available and should be a harm reduction que to every member of the community to help protect each other post in the thread it's not allowed and report the thread/post with a click on the report to a moderator button available in every post in this forum.

Silk Road discussion / Re: 5 transactions are a must?
« on: November 16, 2012, 07:17 am »
Hey guys,

I`m very new here, managed to register just before the shit hit the fan, and been waiting patiently for the site to come back up, lurking forums meanwhile.

I read that 5 successful transactions are a must for anyone to be able to purchase, and just wanted to confirm - is that still the case? Its just that i`m less interested in new books and more in some psychedelic substances LOL.

Thanks,
Hooboos.
Not everything you read is true or 95% of this weeks posts but it is a vendors choice to deal or not deal to any buyer no questions asked why.
So maybe you can find something from someone it might not be what you wanted, I'm sure there is a vendor that sell something to you.

If the vendor does require 5 purchases there is a wide selection of none illegal listings that are reasonably cheap if you take the time to browse the non drug section.

I'm real proud of the spazathon everyone just had and I guess some are still going through, it was probably one of the biggest ones I've ever witnessed.
If anything It without a doubt proved that there are many on here that are not ready to be in this sort of community...either physically or mentally.
This exercise has that you are responsible for every little thing you do on Silk Road and so take a minute to think at every move you make on the darknet should be as if you were playing chess with a competitor and nothing is worth face value.

That being said I will also be going back to a vacation mode for the next how ever long I wish.
I will return doing my thing here when I see fit.

I came to this conclusion last week before everything became completely susceptible to self destruction and took a vacation.
I have returned to find headless chickens and inmates roaming the halls.
Everyone needs a break sometime and I see that even nature can force it upon you regardless of intent.
